Anise Seed

Native to the eastern Mediterranean and Middle East, anise seeds or aniseeds are sweet with a hint of licorice flavor that is more subtle than fennel, star anise or licorice root. It is mostly used for breads, cakes and sweet fruit dishes but it is also an ingredient in some Indian curries. Rich in iron and folate, Aniseed is also valued for its digestive properties.
