Grey Sea Salt, also known as Celtic Sea Salt, is characteristically soft and flaky with a slightly damp consistency. It has a distinctly salty taste that's optimal for garnishing vegetable-focused sides like sautéed green beans, broccoli, peas, asparagus, and corn. It also has the oomph to stand up to the bold flavors of seared steak, pork chop, or pretty much any piece of fish.

How to use it

France's finishing salt. Coarse, moist crystals with a mineral complexity you won't get from table salt. Sprinkle on grilled steak, roasted vegetables, salted butter caramels, and chocolate. The crystals dissolve slowly, so you get bursts of salinity rather than even seasoning — that's the point. Use as a finishing salt, not a cooking salt. Beautiful on a cheese board. The French everyday salt. Same mineral-rich grey sea salt as the coarse version, ground fine for cooking. Dissolves cleanly into sauces, soups, brines, and bread dough. Rounder and more complex than table salt — once you switch, regular salt tastes flat. Use as your daily cooking salt for French, Mediterranean, and general European dishes.

What it goes with

French salt, French-compatible tea. Our Darjeeling's muscatel elegance complements the mineral depth — sprinkle this on a perfectly seared steak, sip Darjeeling alongside, and notice how the salt actually makes the tea taste smoother.

Always handy

I use dillweed often. This dill is fresh and has a nice aroma. I use it in marinades, salad dressings, and on fish. Good stuff.
