Tea & Spice Delivery in Calgary

Local delivery in Calgary

If you are in Calgary or just outside it, we bring your order over ourselves. There is no courier and no tracking number — one of us drives it, and it arrives packed the same way it left the bench.

Local delivery is free on orders over $60. Under that, it is a flat charge at checkout.

We cover Calgary and the surrounding area. If you are not sure whether your address is in it, ask us before you order and we will tell you plainly.

Shipping across Canada

One flat rate for your province, whatever the parcel weighs.

Everywhere else goes by Canada Post, UPS or Purolator at one flat rate for your province or territory — not by weight, so a large order costs the same to send as a small one. Once it is on its way you will get a tracking number by email.

Where it is going Flat rate
Alberta $12
British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba $14
Ontario, Quebec $18
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, PEI $18
Northwest Territories, Yukon $20
Nunavut $22

A few smaller and rural communities sit outside that scale, and the carriers charge far more to reach them. If your address is one of them we will email you about the cost before we fill the order — we will not ship it and bill you afterwards. Orders are paid in full before they leave.

How soon it goes out

We pack and send orders the same week they come in. Sometimes a lot of orders land at once and it takes us three to five days to work through them, which is why we promise you the week rather than the day — we would rather tell you something true than something quick.

After that it is the carrier's, and how long it takes depends on where you are: Alberta is usually a few days, and the far north can be a couple of weeks. We do not control the post and cannot promise a delivery date on its behalf.

Check your address

The address you type at checkout is the address it goes to. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, we will gladly send it out again once you have corrected it — we just ask you to cover the second postage, since the first is already spent.

What you pay

Orders start at $40, before shipping and tax. We are a small shop and every order is packed by hand by the same two people, so there is a point below which an order costs more to put together than it brings in. Forty dollars is where we have set it.

Tea, herbs and spices are basic groceries, so there is no GST on them. Teaware, tins and the other non-food items are taxable and carry 5% GST. Alberta has no provincial sales tax, so that is the whole of it. Everything on the site is in Canadian dollars.

If something is sold out

The order book. Your name goes in it, and we tell you when it lands.

Tell us and we will bring it in for you. People ask us for kaffir lime leaves, mullein tea, gochugaru, lemon balm and hibiscus more often than we can keep them on the shelf. If there is a tea or a spice you want and we are out of it, email diana@teaspiceshoppe.ca and we will add it to the next order we place. When it arrives we will put your order together as a draft and send it over for you to look at — you do not have to watch the page or remember to come back.

This is what we have always done for our regulars, and there is nothing stopping you asking on your very first order. It costs you nothing, and it tells us what to stock.

If something is wrong

Illustration: a mug of tea and a folded tea towel on a clean counter beside an open shipping box, a prairie morning beyond.
Damaged, missing or wrong: a photo by email and we settle it.

If your order arrives damaged, missing or incorrect, that is on us. Email diana@teaspiceshoppe.ca within 48 hours with a photo and we will make it right — a replacement or a refund, whichever you would rather have. You will not be asked to send anything back for us to believe you.

What we cannot do is take food back. Once tea or spice has left the shop we are not allowed to resell it, and that holds even for a sealed package, because we cannot vouch for what happened to it in between. Teaware and accessories are final sale as well — we are selling off the last of that stock. Gift cards are final sale.

So if you are unsure about a tea or a spice, ask before you order rather than after. Tell us what you like and we will tell you honestly whether the thing you are looking at is it. That conversation is free and we would much rather have it first. The full wording is on our returns page.
