How to brew it
- 212°F / 100°C
- Steep 5–7 minutes COVERED
- Use 1–2 tsp per 8oz
- Covering traps the volatile oils that carry most of the flavour
212°F / 100°C — Steep 10–15 minutes — Use 1–2 tsp per 8oz — MUST strain through fine cloth or coffee filter (remove trichome hairs) — Blends well with thyme and ginger
Beyond the cup
One of the oldest respiratory herbs in European tradition. Mullein has been reached for during cough, congestion, and bronchial irritation since the 1st century. The leaf works three ways: loosening mucus, soothing irritated airways, and calming inflammation. Steep 1–2 tsp for 10–15 minutes and strain through a fine cloth or coffee filter — the tiny leaf hairs need to be filtered out or they'll irritate your throat.
