What’s in itrooibos, green tea, tulsi, brahmi, gotu kola, ginseng
How to brew it
  • 212°F / 100°C
  • Steep 5–7 minutes COVERED
  • Use 1–2 tsp per 8oz
  • Covering traps the volatile oils that carry most of the flavour

Beyond the cup

The focus blend. Green tea's L-theanine and caffeine work together for calm alertness — the kind of focus that doesn't jitter. Ginseng, tulsi, and rooibos build on that foundation with traditional adaptogenic support. Brahmi and gotu kola round out the Ayurvedic nootropic tradition. Brew at 80°C for 3–5 minutes — hot but not boiling protects the green tea catechins. Best as a morning or early afternoon work companion.

What’s in it

Every herb in the blend, and where to read about it on its own.

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Tulsi (Holy Basil)

    Ocimum tenuiflorum

Sacred in Hinduism and central to Ayurvedic medicine for over 3,000 years, tulsi is classified as a rasayana — an herb that nourishes the whole person. Modern research identifies it as a genuine adaptogen: multiple human trials show significant reductions in stress, anxiety, and fatigue...

Peppery, clove-like, slightly sweet, aromatic, complex

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Ginseng

    Panax ginseng

The king of adaptogens — and one of the most expensive and extensively studied herbs on Earth. Panax ginseng (Asian/Korean ginseng) contains ginsenosides that modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, supporting the body's stress response over weeks to months of use. Not a stimulant in the caffeine...

Earthy, slightly bitter, warming, complex — woody with sweet undertones

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Brahmi (Bacopa)

    Bacopa monnieri

Named after Brahma, the Hindu creator god — a fitting name for a herb whose clinical evidence for memory enhancement is among the strongest in all of herbal medicine. Multiple RCTs in healthy adults show significant improvements in memory consolidation, attention, and cognitive processing after...

Bitter, slightly astringent, earthy — distinctly medicinal

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Gotu Kola

    Centella asiatica

The 'herb of longevity' in Ayurveda and a cognitive enhancer with a distinct mechanism from brahmi: where brahmi enhances memory consolidation, gotu kola supports neural tissue integrity through collagen synthesis and wound healing pathways that extend to brain vasculature. Its triterpene saponids (asiaticoside, madecassoside) have...

Mild, slightly bitter, grassy, herbal — light and pleasant

  • Tea · Caffeine-free

    Rooibos

    Aspalathus linearis

Not tea. Rooibos is a needle-leaved shrub of the pea family that grows in one mountain range in the Western Cape and nowhere else, and since 2021 the name has been legally reserved for it. It is the base of thirty-three products here for one...

Honey, dried fruit and vanilla with a little wood; smooth, naturally sweet, never bitter. Green rooibos is malty and slightly grassy

  • Tea · Contains caffeine

    Green Tea

    Camellia sinensis

The same leaf as black tea, with the oxidation stopped almost as soon as it starts — by pan-firing in a dry wok in China, by steaming in Japan. That one difference is why green tea is green, grassy and delicate where black is dark...

Grassy and vegetal with a clean sweetness; gunpowder is bolder and faintly smoky, chun mee plummy and less sweet

Good for

When you can't focus

  • Tulsi, traditionally used in Ayurveda as a daily adaptogen, with gotu kola and ginkgo, studied for attention and memory
  • Lemon balm, traditionally used to help relieve nervousness
  • Green and herbal, naturally caffeine-free — clarity without the coffee edge
  • The cup for the second half of a long day's work

These teas are foods, sold as such. Nothing on this page is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

What it goes with

Add a pinch of our Black Pepper Ground to boost absorption across the blend. Our Rosemary makes a natural partner — traditionally known as the 'herb of remembrance,' and its carnosic acid supports the same antioxidant pathway the green tea activates.

Always handy

I use dillweed often. This dill is fresh and has a nice aroma. I use it in marinades, salad dressings, and on fish. Good stuff.
