212°F / 100°C — Steep 15+ minutes in boiling water (longer is better for this one) — Grind seeds first for dramatically better extraction — Consider eating the steeped seeds — Use 1–2 tsp per 8oz

Beyond the cup

Organic milk thistle seeds for traditional liver support. For best results, grind the seeds in a spice grinder or mortar right before steeping — the active compounds are locked behind the seed coat. Steep the ground seeds in boiling water for 15 minutes, and consider eating the softened seeds afterward for the full benefit. A gentler, lighter-touch approach to liver support than concentrated supplements.

What the research looked at

Traditionally used in Herbal Medicine as a hepatoprotectant, with over two thousand years of documented use.
Taxifolin extracts well into water and gives the infusion genuine antioxidant value.
A Cochrane review found no increase in adverse events against placebo.
Honest note: the compounds most studied are poorly water-soluble, so an infusion delivers far less of them than a standardised supplement does. The ritual is real; the dose is small.

What it goes with
