CaffeineCaffeine free
What’s in itCeylon green tea, yerba mate, peppermint, ginger, gojiberry, milk thistle, turmeric, lemon peel, orange peel, burdock root, fennel
How to brew it
  • 212°F / 100°C
  • Steep 5–7 minutes COVERED
  • Use 1–2 tsp per 8oz

Beyond the cup

The morning-after ally. Ginger settles the stomach while peppermint soothes, and a gentle lift from green tea and yerba mate helps you rejoin the living. Traditionally used for digestive recovery and general restoration. Brew 1–2 tsp, steep 5–7 minutes. Add a pinch of black pepper to activate the turmeric in the blend — without it, the turmeric is mostly along for the ride.

What’s in it

Every herb in the blend, and where to read about it on its own.

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Ginger

    Zingiber officinale

The universal connector — ginger appears in more products than any other ingredient in the collection. The dried root is chemically distinct from fresh ginger: drying converts gingerols to shogaols, which are about twice as pungent, and that is why dried ginger tastes deeper and...

Pungent, warm, slightly sweet, citrusy (fresh); warm, mellow, deep (dried)

    Orange Peel

    Citrus sinensis

Previously dismissed as 'just citrus,' orange peel contains hesperidin — a flavanone with genuine anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular evidence — plus polymethoxyflavones that show remarkable metabolic activity in preclinical studies. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, aged tangerine peel (chen pi) is one of the most prescribed herbs....

    Bright, citrusy, slightly bitter, aromatic

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Peppermint

    Mentha x piperita

A natural hybrid of watermint and spearmint that humans have cultivated for centuries. Peppermint's menthol activates TRPM8 cold receptors, creating the sensation of cooling without changing actual temperature. Its rosmarinic acid content is the real pharmacological star in tea — highly water-soluble with genuine anti-inflammatory...

Cool, refreshing, sharp menthol bite, slightly sweet

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Lemongrass

    Cymbopogon citratus

A tropical grass with bright citrus flavor that hides genuine pharmacological activity. Citral — lemongrass's primary compound — relaxes smooth muscle through calcium channel antagonism, addressing the spastic component of digestive discomfort. The surprise: the tea's real bioactives are water-soluble polyphenols (caffeic acid at 20.81...

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Burdock Root

    Arctium lappa

One of the richest sources of prebiotic inulin fibre there is (27–50% of dry weight), burdock root has been a foundational herb in European herbalism and a daily vegetable — gobo — in Japanese cooking for centuries. Chlorogenic acid, the same compound that gives coffee...

Earthy, slightly sweet, nutty, mild — reminiscent of artichoke hearts

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Milk Thistle

    Silybum marianum

The honest product — and the one that requires the most transparency about what tea can and can't deliver. Silymarin, the active complex, is classified as 'practically insoluble in water.' Even after 210 minutes of boiling, silybin A and B extract at only 30% of...

Mild, slightly nutty, earthy — relatively neutral in blends

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Gojiberry

    Lycium barbarum

A superfood marketing success story with genuine nutritional value but limited therapeutic impact at tea-blend doses. Goji berries contain unique polysaccharides (LBPs), zeaxanthin for eye health, and betaine for liver support — but in The Hangover blend at ~0.2g per cup, betaine delivery is roughly...

Mildly sweet, slightly tart, berry-like, raisin-like when dried

  • Herb · Contains caffeine (approximately 30–50 mg per cup — moderate)

    Yerba Mate

    Ilex paraguariensis

South America's beloved caffeinated beverage — culturally as significant as tea in Asia or coffee in Europe. Yerba mate uniquely contains caffeine, theobromine, AND theophylline (all three methylxanthines), creating a distinctive stimulant profile that users describe as 'clean energy' without coffee's jitters. The chlorogenic acid...

Earthy, grassy, slightly smoky, bitter-sweet, vegetal — an acquired taste

  • Spice · Caffeine-free

    Turmeric

    Curcuma longa

A ginger-family rhizome, boiled, dried and ground to a powder so yellow it stains everything it touches. In sixteen products here it is doing two jobs: colour, which is most of why it is in a curry powder or a mustard, and a gently bitter,...

Earthy, warm, gently bitter and peppery, with a musky root smell; it colours everything gold

  • Fruit · Caffeine-free

    Lemon Peel

    Citrus x limon

Dried lemon zest, granulated — pure lemon flavour with none of the moisture, which is precisely what makes it useful. A fresh lemon brings acid and water along with the aroma; dried peel brings only the aroma, so it can go into a dry rub,...

Bright, pure lemon; dry, with no juice

  • Herb · Caffeine-free

    Fennel

    Foeniculum vulgare

A sweet, anise-scented seed — the anethole in it is the same compound that makes anise and star anise taste the way they do, though the three plants are unrelated. Fennel is the sausage seed and the after-dinner seed at once: nineteen products here carry...

Sweet, anise-like, green and warm; toasted seeds pop and deepen

    Ceylon Green Tea

    Camellia sinensis var. assamica

A young tradition on an old tea island. Sri Lanka tried green tea with Chinese seedlings from the nineteenth century, but the first batch was exported only in 1982, and most of it is made in Uva from Assamese stock — which is why Ceylon...

Earthy, floral and mellow, fuller and nuttier than East Asian greens — the Uva style is pungent and malty

Good for

When your stomach's off

  • Ginger and peppermint, traditionally used in herbal medicine to help relieve nausea
  • Milk thistle, traditionally used in herbal medicine as a liver tonic
  • Warm, minty and naturally caffeine-free — drink two
  • The morning after; we have all been there

These teas are foods, sold as such. Nothing on this page is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

What it goes with

The most important addition: a pinch of our Black Pepper Ground. The piperine unlocks the turmeric that's already in the blend. Add our Ginger Ground for extra anti-nausea power if you're really hurting.

This is an awesome tea when you're starting to get a headache, or waiting for advil to kick in. It's very calming, and despite it being caffeinated, I rarely have troubles falling asleep after drinking it in the evening. I do recommend, even if you're not a drinker!

Always handy

I use dillweed often. This dill is fresh and has a nice aroma. I use it in marinades, salad dressings, and on fish. Good stuff.
