Beyond the cup

The nausea fighter. This is one of the most studied herbs on the planet for settling an upset stomach — pregnancy, travel, post-surgery, you name it. Dried ginger root is actually more potent than fresh for this purpose. Steep 1 tsp in boiling water for 10 minutes. Three cups a day hits the dose range used in clinical research.

What the research looked at

Traditionally used in Herbal Medicine as a digestive aid and to help relieve nausea and digestive upset.
Research on ginger has looked at nausea in several settings; the reviews are summarised in the ingredient guide.
Naturally caffeine-free, and warming in the plainest sense — it is the most-used ingredient in this shop for a reason.
The cup after a heavy meal, or the one you make when you are not quite right.

What it goes with

Ginger is a natural partner for our Turmeric Ground — they share anti-inflammatory pathways and have been paired in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. Add a pinch of Black Pepper Ground to supercharge the turmeric's absorption.

Also in these blends

On its own, this is the straight thing. It also goes into these blends, each made for a different evening. Read about Ginger →

Always handy

I use dillweed often. This dill is fresh and has a nice aroma. I use it in marinades, salad dressings, and on fish. Good stuff.
