CaffeineCaffeine free
TasteCool, refreshing, sharp menthol bite, slightly sweet
How to brew it
  • 212°F / 100°C
  • Steep 5–7 minutes COVERED
  • Use 1–2 tsp per 8oz
  • Covering traps the volatile oils that carry most of the flavour

212°F / 100°C — Steep 5–7 minutes COVERED (preserves volatile menthol) — Use 1–2 tsp per 8oz — Won't become bitter — Excellent iced

Beyond the cup

The after-meal reset. Traditionally used for bloating, gas, and sluggish digestion. Clears the sinuses when you're stuffed up — breathe it in while you sip. Brew strong (2 tsp, steep 5–7 minutes, keep it covered to trap the menthol) and drink between meals, not with food.

Good for

When your stomach's off

  • Traditionally used in herbal medicine to help relieve digestive discomfort, bloating and gas
  • Traditionally used as an expectorant to help relieve congestion
  • Cooling, clean and naturally caffeine-free
  • The after-dinner cup, and the one for a stuffy head
What the research looked at

Soothes digestive discomfort, bloating, and occasional gas through smooth muscle relaxation
Clears nasal congestion and opens airways via menthol's cooling action
Refreshes and clears the head during afternoon energy dips
Anti-inflammatory through rosmarinic acid (well-extracted into tea)
Dual anti-nausea action — 5-HT3 antagonism confirmed alongside ginger's mechanism

What it goes with

The classic digestive triple: peppermint for cramping, Fennel Seeds for gas, and Ginger Ground for nausea. Grab all three and blend them together for a stomach-settling powerhouse that covers every angle.

Also in these blends

On its own, this is the straight thing. It also goes into these blends, each made for a different evening. Read about Peppermint →

Always handy

I use dillweed often. This dill is fresh and has a nice aroma. I use it in marinades, salad dressings, and on fish. Good stuff.
