How to use it

The chili herb — this is what belongs in chili con carne, not Mediterranean oregano. Stir into pozole, menudo, enchilada sauce, and bean dishes. A tablespoon per batch of chili. Mix into taco seasoning with cumin and chili powder. Bolder and more citrusy than its Mediterranean cousin, with an earthy depth that complements chili peppers and lime.

What it goes with

Mexican oregano's phenolic character finds a surprising partner in aged tea. Brew our Pu-erh alongside chili night — both share that earthy, medicinal depth through similar phenolic structures. For a lighter option, our Masala Chai bridges through the woody β-caryophyllene shared between the herb and chai's spices.

Also in these blends

On its own, this is the straight thing. It also goes into these blends, each made for a different evening. Read about Oregano →
